TRENGGALEK– The totally of tourist visits to Trenggalek Regency in 2025 shows a decline, although not too significant.

This data can be seen both from tourist visits to tourist destinations and from tourists who are recorded as staying in hotels in Trenggalek.

Head of Tourism Marketing at the Trenggalek Tourism and Culture Agency, Bambang Supriyadi, said that by 2025, the total of domestic tourists visiting tourist destinations in Trenggalek will reach hundreds of thousands. Meanwhile, the number of foreign tourists is still very low.

"In 2025, we will have 900,433 domestic tourists and 4 foreign tourists visiting the destination. There will be 55,279 domestic tourists staying in hotels and 13 foreign tourists," he explained on Monday (5/1/2026).

For comparison, Bambang mentioned tourist movements in the previous year. In 2024, there were more than one million tourist visits to tourist destinations. Meanwhile, the hotel sector recorded more than 60,000 visits.

"For comparison in 2024, we had 1,054,189 domestic tourists and 2 foreign tourists at the destination. For hotels, in 2024, there were 62,272 domestic tourists and 4 foreign tourists," he said.

Bambang acknowledged that quantitatively there had been a decline compared to the previous year.

However, the decline was not too significant and was still within reasonable limits. "Quantitatively, there has been a slight decline compared to 2024, but it is not too significant," he said.

According to him, there are a number of factors that affect the number of tourists visiting Trenggalek, ranging from climate anomalies to the emergence of new tourist destinations in other areas that attract public attention.

"One of the causes of this decline is weather anomalies, and the opening of the Tulungagung-Blitar southern cross road (JLS) has also attracted the attention of many tourists," he added.

Nevertheless, in 2025, several destinations in Trenggalek still have the potential to attract tourists. Mutiara Beach, which recorded 360,084 visitors, and Pasir Putih Karanggongso Beach, which recorded 310,273 visitors, make these two tourist destinations stand out.

"In 2025, as in the previous year, our biggest contributors will be Karanggongso White Sand Beach and Mutiara Beach," he explained.

Bambang also mentioned other destinations besides Karanggongso White Sand Beach and Mutiara Beach that contribute the most tourists.

“The second-largest contributor is PHD Nusantara with 47,636 tourists, followed by Durenan Subdistrict, then Kebo Beach in Munjungan Subdistrict with 37,640 tourists, and finally Pelang Beach in Panggul Subdistrict with 29,324 tourists,” she concluded. (tra/c1/din)
